Enlisted  Chatham, Kent,  age 18 years & 10 months, height 5ft 7 inches, weight 116lbs, sallow complexion, brown eyes, dark brown hair. Formerly papermaker.

Home, 17th July 1915 to 22nd December 1915; BEF, 23rd December 1915 to 2nd April 1916.

17th July 1915, enlisted; 20th July 1915, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th July 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 23rd December 1915, posted BEF & 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th February 1916, awarded 14 days Field Punishment No.2.; 3rd March 1916, 1 North Field Ambulance, wounded, gun shot wound back; 16th March 1916, in 26 General Hospital Etaples, gun shot wound back and pneumonia, dangerously ill; 20th March 1916, in 26 General Hospital Etaples, gun shot wound back and pneumonia, dangerously ill, unchanged; 2nd April 1916, died at 3.20am.

3rd October 1916, date when Separation Allowance of 1/5 a week and Allotment of Pay of 3/6 a week, payable to father, will cease.
