Enlisted Woolwich, Kent, age 35 years & 11 months, height 5ft 4½ inches, weight 126lbs.  Resided Lewisham, Kent. Formerly assembling cartridges at Woolwich Arsenal.

10th December 1915, enlisted; 11th December 1915, to Army Reserve; 12th June 1917, mobilized; 13th June 1917, posted 1st Reserve London Regiment, Service No.204835; 5th October 1917, Blackdown, overstaying his leave from 10.00pm 5th October till 11.30pm 7th October 1917, 7 days confined to Barracks, fined 3 days pay, forfeits 3 days pay; 12th October 1917, Southampton; 13th October 1917, Havre; 16th October 1917. transferred and posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st October 1917, joined Battalion In the Field; 26th October 1917, posted missing.

11th May 1920, Statement of Relatives - Widow, Lucie Louise Youngman, 53, Limes Grove, Lewisham, SE13; Children, Ida Jessie Youngman, born 1st June 1908, 53, Limes Grove, Lewisham, SE13; In answer to all  the following questions - I would inform you that my husband never knew any of his relations whatever, and was brought up by a : Mrs Mitchell, Redenhall, nr Harleston, Norfolk whose death took place in March 1919; Nephews / Nieces - Constance Mary Hardwick, age 6 years, Rotherham, Yorkshire; Roy Arthur Airey, age 2 years, Parhgate, Yorkshire, by marriage only.

Commemorated  at Tyne Cot Memorial, Panel 106 to 108, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
