11th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th September 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th October 1914, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th September 1915, embarked for BEF; 28th September 1915, joined 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st January 1917 to 31st January 1917, granted leave; 28th January 1918, awarded Military Medal by Officer Commanding Battalion; 27th January 1918 to 10th February 1918, granted leave; 21st March 1918, posted missing in action; 9th October 1918, listed as Prisoner of War in Germany on Red Cross list & wounded, shrapnel, right upper arm; 28th November 1918, repatriated at Dover, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th February 1919, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th March 1919, Pattishall, overstaying his leave, from 16.00 hours 9th March 1919 to 17.30 hours, 13th March 1919, 2 days Field Punishment No.2.; 26th April 1919, Transferred to Reserve and Discharged, to 30 Station Street, Northfleet, Kent.
