Previously served Royal West Kent Regiment, time expired.

June 1914, Sevenoaks Registration District, married Alice Laura Gertrude Wright.

Enlisted Tonbridge, Kent, age 40, height 5ft 9 inches, blue eyes, auburn hair. Formerly labourer.

2nd September 1914 to 11th May 1915; BEF 12th May 1915 to 30th July 1916.

2nd September 1914, enlisted from Army Reserve; 3rd September 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th May 1915, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th May 1915, 5 Infantry Base Depot; 15th May 1915, joined Battalion, "A" Company In the Field; 19th December 1915, 15 Field Ambulance, bronchitis; 27th December 1915, rejoined Battalion, "A" Company; 29th February 1916, 13 Field Ambulance, NYD fever; 29th February 1916, to 19 Casualty Clearing Station; 7th March 1916, debility, to Convalescent Camp; 15th April 1916, 5 Infantry Base Depot; 20th May 1916, rejoined Battalion, "A" Company; 30th July 1916, wounded & posted missing; 8th August 1917, regarded for Official Purposes as having died on or since 30th July 1916.

29th May 1917, pension of 13/9 a week awarded to wife, (soldier still missing).

1917 December, Sevenoaks Registration District, Alice Laura Gertrude Kingswood, married James Douglas? Marsh, 5 Locks Yard, High Street, Sevenoaks, Kent / 1 Smith Cottages, High Street, Sevenoaks, Kent. 1920 September, Sevenoaks Registration District, Alice Laura Gertrude Marsh, died age 44.

Buried at Serre Road Cemetery No.2., XVII. G. 14., France.
