Enlisted  Guildford, Surrey, age 39 years & 3 months, height 5ft 4½ inches, 147lbs, wart right knee cap, fresh complexion, blue eyes, fair hair.  Resided The Lane near The Crown Inn, Virginia Water, Surrey / Springfield Cotts, Virginia Water, Surrey. Formerly farm carter.

29th July 1916, Called up for Service; 31st July 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 18th October 1916, Infantry Base Depot.

4th November 1917, date when Separation Allowance of 9/- a week & Allotment of Pay of 3/6 a week will cease.

5th November 1917, pension of 15/- a week awarded to widow.
