5th June 1916, enlisted, 6th June 1916 to Army Reserve; 2nd August 1916, mobilized & posted London Regiment, Service No.6816 / 233153; 8th October 1916 to 28th November 1916, Military Hospital, Bancroft Road, London, E rectal abscess, wound healed, still complains of pain in left leg; 8th November 1916 to 28th December 1916, Bermondsey Military Hospital, hemorrhoids, transferred to Lewisham for operation; 28th December 1916 to 2nd February 1917, Lewisham Military Hospital, piles, operation, ligature & excision; 5th October 1917, Blackdown, overstaying draft leave from 10.30 pm 5th October 1917  till 11.30pm 7th October 1917, forfeits 3 days pay, 7 days confined to Barracks; 10th November 1917, posted BEF; 12th October 1917, Southampton, embarked; 13th October 1917, Havre, disembarked; 13th October 1917, Havre, 7 Infantry Base Depot; 16th October 1917, transferred to Royal West Kent Regiment, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st October 1917, joined Battalion; 26th October 1917, wounded in action.

20th May 1918, pension of 25/5 a week awarded to widow & two children
