Enlisted Brighton, Sussex, age 24 years 5 months, height 5ft 8 inches, weight 123lbs. Resided Brighton, 5, Regent Hill, Brighton, Sussex. Formerly hotel servant, (porter).

Home 19th May 1916 to 3rd October 1916; BEF 4th October 1916 to 20th September 1917.

19th May 1916, enlisted; 20th May 1915, to Army Reserve; 21st June 1916, mobilized; 23rd June 1916, posted 5th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, G/46084; 4th October 1916, posted 11th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers; 4th October 1916, transferred to 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th September 1917, posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 20th September 1917, posted missing.

30th July 1919, memo from Assistant Financial Secretary to Infantry Records - "With reference to you memorandum of the 14th July last, No.R.W.K.383/5 regarding a refund of the travelling expenses incurred by the late No.18697 Pte. A. E. Brown, Royal West Kent Regiment, in proceeding from Wellington, (New Zealand), to the United Kingdom, please note that the sum of £23.0.0. (twenty three pounds), has been credited to this man's estate and instructions will in due course be issued, as to disposal."
