Enlisted Dover, Kent, age 35 years & 86 days, height 5ft 4 inches, weight 130lbs, defective teeth, to see ophthalmic surgeon, (myopic astigmatism, spectacles to be provided). Resided 43, Clarendon Place, Dover, Kent. Formerly glazier & painter.

9th December 1915, enlisted; 10th December 1915, to Army Reserve;  3rd June 1916, mobilized; 3rd June 1916, posted 12th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th December 1916, posted BEF; 18th December 1916, embarked / disembarked; 18th December 1916, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

Separation Allowance 24/6 a week & Allotment of Pay 3/6 a week.

14th January 1918, pension of 26/3 a week awarded to widow & three children.

Commemorated at  Ypres (Menin Gate)  Memorial, Panel 45 & 47, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
