Enlisted 28th February 1908, Maidstone, Kent, for 6 years, age 18, height 5ft 6½ inches, weight 116lbs, grey eyes, fair hair. Formerly cabinet maker.
28th February 1908, enlisted in Royal West Kent Regiment, Special Reserve; 24th April 1908, awarded 3rd Class Certificate of Education; 31st July 1908, joined Regular Army, age 18 years & 10 months, height 5ft 7⅛ inches, weight 121lbs, ruddy complexion, grey eyes, light brown hair; 11th December 1909, posted India & 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd March 1911 to 27th March 1911 Peshawar Hospital, myalgia, August 1911, passed Class of Instruction in Sanitation; 19th October 1912 to 22nd October 1912, Peshawar Hospital, malaria; 3rd May 1914 to 9th May 1914, Dalhousie Hospital, inflamed lymphatic glands, resulting from infection of an abscess of toe; 10th June 1914, admitted to Dalhousie Hospital, with sprained left knee, no blame; 16th August 1914 to 17th August 1914, Dalhousie Hospital, accident off duty due to a fall down khud, paralysis of ???muscles, fractured sternam, no spinal ???.; 17th August 1914, died at Dalhousie, India, paralysis.

Commemorated at Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial, Face 7, India. Buried in Dalhousie Military Cemetery.

In pursuance of " The Regimental Debts Act, 1893," notice is hereby given that there is available for distribution amongst the Next of Kin or others entitled the sum of money set opposite to the name of each of the deceased Soldiers named in the lists which are published with this notice in the London Gazette and the " Army List," and are also to be seen at the Regimental Depots throughout the United Kingdom.
Applications from persons supposing themselves entitled as Next of Kin should be addressed by letter to "The Secretary, War Office, Park Buildings, St. James's Park, London, S.W.," and marked outside " Effects."
