Major Francis Herbert HOTHAM, 6th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died in his sleep, heart failure,30th October 1914, Purfleet Camp, Essex, age 49.
Born 20th September 1865, Church Stretton, Shropshire, son of Frederick Harry & Eleanor Hotham.

On the retired list, but enlisted when War broke out.
30th November 1914, Probate - Hotham Francis Herbert, of 36 Sloane Court, Middlesex, died 30th October 1914, at Purfleet Camp, Essex. Probate London 30th November to Emily Harriet Benson, (wife of Lyde Ernest George Benson) and Robert Harry Hotham esquire. Effects £33550 7s 2d.
Buried at Grays New Cemetery, Grave Reference: 3.988, Grays, Essex.
Was at one time being considered as an addition to Brookwood 1914-1918 Memorial, United Kingdom.
