Major Francis Bruce CARLISLE,  4th Battalion, (Territorial), Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died 31st December 1914, aged 40.

11th September 1874, born Dumfries, Scotland, son of Bruce Carlisle & Mary Jane Henderson.

1908 June Quarter, Tonbridge Registration District, married Hilder Fisher Simpson.


1911 Census - 22 St Marks Road, Maidenhead - Francis Bruce Carlisle, head, age 36, married, bank cashier, born Dumfries; Hilder Fisher Carlisle, wife, age 24, married 2 years, no children, born Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Helen Mary Lister, servant, age 27, single, general domestic, born St Johns Parish, Scoulton, Norfolk.


29th October 1914, posted India.

25th May 1915, Probate - Carlisle Francis Bruce, of 1 Meadway Gate, Hendon, Middlesex, died 31st December 1914, at Jubbulpore, India. Probate London 25th May to Hilda Fisher Carlisle, widow. Effects £393 5s 3d.

Commemorated at  Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial, Face 7, India.
