Lieutenant John Oswald HEATH, 11th  Battalion,  "D" Company, Bombing Officer, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,  reported wounded and missing on 7th  October 1916 and later presumed killed in action, on that date, age 20.

Born Catford, Kent, son of John Edgar & Nora Mary Heath,  18 Charterhouse Road, London EC1 .

Attended Eastbourne College, May 1910 to July 1910.

Formerly Private The Honourable Artillery Company, Service No.793; 18th September 1914, posted BEF; June 1915, returned home to take a Commission in The Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st May 1916, posted BEF as Battalion Bombing Officer.

12th March 1931, Probate - Heath John Oswald, of 19 St Mildreds Road, Lee, Kent, died 7th October 1916 in France. Administration London 12th March to  John Edgar Heath Esq. Effects £795 11s 5d.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, France & St Mildred's Church, War Memorial. & Eastbourne College War Memorial
