His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to confer the Military Cross on the under mentioned Officers and Warrant Officers in recognition of their gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field:
Temporary 2nd Lieutenant Gilbert Frederick Doble, Royal West Kent Regiment
For conspicuous gallantry during operations. He carried out a very dangerous reconnaissance to find an observation post in front of his brigade. He was severely wounded. He has done much fine work as Divisional Scout Officer.

Temporary Lieutenant Gilbert Frederick Doble, MC., General List (formerly Royal West Kent Regiment).
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as intelligence officer. He kept in touch with the situation during an engagement with great skill and obtained valuable information.
