His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to the under mentioned Warrant Officers, Non commissioned Officers and Men, for acts of gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field.
2100 Serjeant E. B. Trotter, R.A.M.C.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He displayed great courage and determination when in charge of a number of stretcher-bearer squads. On several occasions he personally tended the wounded under very heavy fire.

His Majesty The KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the following awards to the under mentioned Officers and Warrant Officers in recognition of their gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field.
AWARDED THE MILITARY CROSS.
2nd Lt. Erie Britt Trotter, D.C.M., Royal West Kent Regiment. Special Reserve.
He was in charge of the parties on the flank of an important raid, and led his men with great energy arid determination, capturing an enemy post with a machine gun and accounting for the garrison, being badly wounded himself in the shoulder. In spite of exhaustion from loss of blood, he pushed on, inspiring his men by his example of gallantry and endurance, till he reached the enemy second line, where he was wounded a second time and became unconscious.
