Lieutenant Clifford John Frederick BURR, 5th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died, India, 6th May 1915, age 30.

9th December 1884, born Paddington, London, son of John Robert and Elizabeth Burr.

1st March 1885, Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Sutherland Gardens, London, baptism of Clifford John Frederick Burr, son of John Robert and Elizabeth Burr, 84 Ashmore Road.


1st April 1908, enlisted into 9th Battalion, County of London, (Queen Victorias Rifles), Service No.68, previously 1st Middlesex V.R.C. (26th March 1908 to 31st March 1908). Age 23 years 5 months. In employ of E Bruce Millar, as solicitors articled clerk. Resided 9 Stanley Gardens, Cricklewood, London NW.

Private 1st April 1908 to 31st March 1910; Corporal, 1st April 1910 to 30th July 1910; L/Sgt, 31st July 1910 to 31st March 1911; Sgt, 1st April 1911 to 27th April 1914.

21st July 1910, passed exam for Sergeant; 1 yo 31st March 1912, School of ???? Chelsea

27th April 1914, total service toward engagement in the Territorial Force - 6 years. Discharged in consequence of appointed to Commission.

1914, September Quarter, Hampstead District married Isabella Dakers, of "Whitnash", Church End, Finchley, London. 

Probate - BURR Clifford John Frederick of Barlemere, Brighton Road, Purley, Surrey. 1st Lieutenant 5th Battalion, Queens Royal West Kent Regiment, died 6th May 1915, in Central India. Probate London, 13th July to Isabella Burr widow, Effects £86 12s 5d.

Buried in Jhansi Cantonment Cemetery, Plot H185, India.
