Lance Corporal William Frank PEARSON, G/16617, 1st Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders France, death presumed on or after, 26th October 1917, age 30.

Born Yalding,  Kent, son of Frank William and Clara Pearson, of Corn Stores, Wateringbury, Kent.

16th August 1911, Nettlestead Church, Nettlestead, Kent, married Ellen Avis Russell, spinster, 3 Phoenix Cottages, Nettlestead, Wateringbury, Kent.

Child - Ruth Alice Pearson, born 4th October 1913, Nettlestead, Kent.

Enlisted Maidstone  Kent, age 28 years & 201 days, height 5ft 7 inches, weight 140lbs.  Resided 3 Phoenix Cottages, Nettlestead, Kent. Formerly brewers drayman.

27th May 1916, enlisted; 28th May 1916 to Army Reserve; 18th July 1916, mobilized; 21st July 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th October 1916, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 16th November 1916, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 21st December 1916, posted BEF as a Private, & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th April 1917, 6 Canadian Field Ambulance, JCT 4th finger right hand; 9th April 1917 to 4 Stationary Hospital; 9th May 1917, rejoined Battalion, "B" Company; 13th June 1917, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 13th June 1917, 100 Field Ambulance, JCT left thigh & knee; 14th June 1917 to 6 Ambulance Train; 23rd June 1917, Etaples, 6 Convalescent Depot; 27th June 1917, Cayean, 5 Convalescent Depot; 15th August 1917, Etaples 40 Infantry Base Depot; 31st August 1917, rejoined Battalion, "B" Company;  6th October 1917, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 26th October 1917, posted missing.

1st July 1918, pension of 20/5 a week awarded to widow and one child.

30th May 1920, Statement of Relatives -

Buried at Hooge Crater Cemetery,   VIA. E. 11.Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Commemorated at Wateringbury Kent / Nettlestead War Memorial.
