Son of Richard & Elizabeth Arnold, of 51 Taunton Road, Lee, London SE12. Next of Kin given as brother Robert Arnold, 51 Taunton Road, Lee, London SE12.
17th July 1917, gun shot wound left thigh, shrapnel still in leg, advised by American Doctor that if removed leg might stiffen.
Appointed Lance Corporal 10th September 1917. Company and Battalion runner.
Wounded 27th November 1917, awarded MM.
Posted missing in action, Prisoner of War, 21st March 1918. Captured Moy, last place of internment, Chemnity. On German Official List, 25th June 1918, Repatriated to England, 25th December 1918.
Admitted to Tooting Grove Military Hospital 3rd March to 22nd March 1919 with mumps.
