12th December 1915, enlisted; 13th December 1915 to Army Reserve; 8th April 1916, mobilized; 9th April 1916, posted 16th Battalion, Royal, Fusiliers, Service No.G/34896; 1st September 1916, transferred to 22nd Training Reserve Battalion, Service No.50690; 4th October 1916, transferred to Royal Fusiliers & embarked; 14th October 1916, posted to 26th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, transferred to 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th October 1916, joined 7th Battalion, In the Field; 18th November 1916, wounded in action; 19th November 1916, Le Treport, Canadian General Hospital, wounded, bullet wound thigh right shoulder; 4th January 1917, Etaples, 40 Infantry Base Depot, joined Base Depot, ex 3 Convalescent Camp; 15th January 1917, proceeded to join 7th Battalion; 29th March 1917, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal.
