Lance Corporal Reginald Charles CALVER, G/10084, "D" Company, 11th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds, (gun shot wounds neck & face), 38 Casualty Clearing Station, Flanders France, 17th September 1916, age 35.

19th May 1881, born Lewisham, Kent, son of Richard and Annie Calver, of 10, Church Grove, Lewisham, Kent.

19th June 1881, St Mary Lewisham, Baptism of Reginald Charles Claver son of  Richard (gardener), and Annie Calver, 10, Church Grove, Lewisham.

23rd September 1905, Lewisham, married Edith Mary Horsley, of 55, Felday Road, Lewisham, London.

Children - Margaret Edith Calver, born 9th February 1906, Lewisham; Evelyn Blanche Calver, born 8th November 1911, Lewisham.

23rd October 1914, enlisted at 241 Stanstead Road, Forest Hill, SE into Territorial Force, 20th County of London Regiment, Service No. 45208, age 33, belongs to National Reserve having previously served in 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st October 1915, discharged  to join Regular Army.

Enlisted Whitehall, London, age 34, height 6ft 2 inches, weight 185lbs, crossed flags, South Africa. Resided 55 Felday Road, Lewisham SE. Formerly gold & silver refiner.

Home 2nd October 1915 to 2nd May 1916; BEF 3rd May 1916 to 17th September 1916.

2nd October 1915, enlisted & posted 11th Battalion,  Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th November 1915, promoted Lance Corporal; 3rd May 1916, posted BEF.

8th March 1917, personal Effects returned to widow - letter, photos, pouch, mirror, pencil, two coins (defaced), purse, South African Medal.

2nd  April 1917, pension of 21/- a week awarded to widow and two children, increasing to 22/11 a week from 4th April 1917.
