Lance Corporal Jesse RUEWELL, L/1873,  7th  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,  died of wounds, Flanders France, 31st October 1918, age 32.

Born Lindfield, Sussex, son of William Ruewell, of Horsted Keynes, Sussex, and the late Mrs. Ruewell.


1911 Census - Nash Farm, Scaynes Hill, Haywards Heath, Sussex - George Tidy, head, age 44, married, farm bailiff, worker, born Buxted, Sussex; Kate Tidy, wife, age 43, married 23 years, 4 children, 2 still alive, born Plumpton, Sussex; James Morley Tidy, son, age 11, born Scaynes Hill, Sussex; Jesse Ruewell, boarder, age 24, single, waggoner on farm, worker, born Lindfield, Sussex.


1916 December Quarter,. Sevenoaks Registration District, married Mary P. Tidy, of Winkhurst Green, Ide Hill, Sevenoaks, Kent.

Enlisted Tonbridge, Kent.

Buried at Premont British Cemetery,  II. A. 10., France.  Commemorated at Horsted Keynes Parish Memorial, Sussex & in St Mary's, Ide Hill, Sevenoaks, Kent.
