Born Worthing, Sussex, son of Eliza Blake, 1 Lyndhurst Road / 5 Station Parade, West Worthing, Sussex.
Enlisted Bromley, Kent, age 24, height 5ft 10¼ inches, weight 156lbs, complexion, fresh, eyes grey, light brown hair. Formerly labourer.
Home 5th October 1914 to 14th June 1915; BEF 15th June 1915 to 5th September 1916; Home 6th SEptember 1916 to 24th May 1917; BEF 25th May 1917 to 17th July 1917.
5th October 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 8th October 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th October 1914, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 8th May 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 15th June 1915, posted BEF & 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th August 1916, admitted 6 Stationery Hospital, P.U.O.; 5th September 1916, to England, Hospital Ship St Patrick ex 9 General Hospital, Rouen; 12th December 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th January 1917, deprived of 10 days pay & forfeits 5 days pay, by Commanding Officer, for absence; 23rd May 1917, posted BEF & embarked; 8th June 1917, joined "B" Company, 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th June 1917, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 17th July 1917, posted missing.
Commemorated at Arras Memorial, Bay 7, Pas de Calais, France.
