26th January 1916, forfeits 6 days pay for absence; 29th April 1916, forfeits 6 days pay, and deprived of 10 days pay for absence; 2nd July 1916, gun shot wound to leg; 23rd September 1916, appointed Lance Corporal; 23rd April 1917, Fort Hasted, whilst on active service, absent from 9.30pm till 6.00pm 2nd? May, deprived of Lance Stripe, forfeits 10 days pay; 5th May 1917, Fort Hasted, whilst on active service, absent from 9.30pm & remaining absent till apprehended by Civil Police at Chatham, 9th inst, deprived of 10 days pay, forfeits 5 days pay; 13th May 1917, Fort Hasted, whilst on active service, absent from 9.30pm till 11.30am 14th inst, deprived of 6 days pay, 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 2 days pay; 18th May 1917, Fort Hasted, whilst on active service, absent from 9.30pm till 10.45pm 19th inst when warned to commence musketry and whilst a defaulter, 7 days Field Punishment No.2., forfeits 2 days pay; 23rd September 1917, Reading War Hospital, gun shot wound, left shoulder & chest; 1st October to 7th October 1918 furlough granted from Hospital; 6th December 1918, discharged, as being no longer physically fit for War Service, Silver War Badge, B57058, and certificate awarded 3rd January 1919. Pension awarded.
