Lance Corporal Frederick Thomas PHILPOTT, G/39448, 6th Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly 8388, Essex Regiment), killed in action, Flanders France, death presumed on or after, 21st September 1918, age 32.

Born Luton, Bedfordshire.

Buried at Unicorn Cemetery, IV. C. 8., Vend'huile, France. Commemorated Luton, Bedfordshire War Memorial.


According to The National Roll of the Great War - PHILPOTT F.T. L/Corporal, 6th Queens Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) - He joined in October 1916, and after serving at various stations was drafted overseas in July 1918. He served in France in the heavy fighting at Bullecourt, Passchendaele and Arras, in the Allied advance of that year, and was reported missing on September 21st. Later he was presumed to have been killed in action on that date, and was entitled to the General Seervice & Victory Medals.
