Lance Corporal Frank FRYER, G/2339, "C" Company, 7th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders France, death presumed on or after, 13th July 1916,  age 28. 

Born Lee, Greenwich, Kent, son of Frank and Mary Elizabeth Fryer, of 55, Furzefield Road, Blackheath, London.

Enlisted Woolwich, Kent, age 25 years & 300 days, height 5ft 3 inches, weight 110lbs, dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, slight ear discharge since infancy, upper set of teeth false & same of lower. Formerly gardener.

Home 8th September 1914 to 25th July 1915; BEF 26th July 1915 to 13th July 1916.

8th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd January 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 13th July 1915, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 13th July 1916, posted missing.

14th July 1919, Statement of relatives - Father, Frank Fryer, 55, Furzefield Road, Blackheath, London; Mother, Mary Elizabeth Fryer, 55, Furzefield Road, Blackheath, London; Brothers - William Fryer, age 26, 55, Furzefield Road, Blackheath, London; Arthur Fryer, age 22, Dilel? War Hospital.

Commemorated at  Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, Somme, France.

NOTE: brother of Private Albert FRYER, G/2338, who also fell.
