Enlisted Maidstone, Kent, age 23 years & 6 months, height 5ft 6 inches, 168lbs.  Resided No.34, Pool Street, Walsall, Staffordshire. Formerly brass polisher.

23rd August 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 28th August 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 29th December 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 3rd May 1916, posted BEF; 3rd May 1916, Southampton, embarked; 4th May 1916, Havre, disembarked; 15th August 1916, tried by General Court Marshal, when on Active Service, an act  to the prejudice of good order and military discipline, sentenced to 56 days Field Punishment No.1.; 23rd October 1916,  appointed unpaid Lance Corporal.

Separation Allowance 16/- a week, Allotment of Pay 3/6 a week.

7th January 1918, pension of 18/9 a week awarded to widow and child.

Commemorated at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Panel 45 and 47, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
