Enlisted Greenwich, Kent, age 22 years & 240 days, height 5ft 6¾ inches, weight 134lbs, tattoo left arm, dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair. Resided 41 Idenden Cottages, Tunnel Avenue, Blackwall Lane, East Greenwich, SE10. Formerly labourer.

Home 7th September 1914 to 25th July 1915; BEF 26th July 1915 to 24th January 1916.

7th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th July 1915, embarked BEF; 11th December 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal.
