Born Burton on Trent, enlisted 24th June 1915, Sheerness, Kent, age 25, height 5ft 4 inches, weight 126lbs, resided 30 Harold Street, Queenborough, Kent. Formerly glass gatherer.

Husband to Ada Rosina Dent (nee Bennett), 30 Harold Street, Queenborough, Kent. Married 6th April 1912, Sheerness, Kent.

Children - Gladys Adelaide Rosina Dent, born 6th August 1912, Minster, Sheppey; Alfred Ernest Dent, born 9th May 1914, Minster, Sheppey.

7th October 1915, awarded 14 days Field Punishment No.2., for "absence"; BEF 15th June 1916; awarded 21 days Field Punishment No.2., 22nd September 1916; appointed unpaid Lance Corporal 21st March 1917; appointed Acting Corporal, 30th May 1917; confirmed in rank, Corporal 30th May 1917.

Edmonton Hospital, 29th April 1916 to 3rd May 1916, gun shot wound thigh; Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, 29th March 1918 to 17th September 1918, gun shot wound left forearm; 24th September 1918, Depot Shoreham, gun shot wound left forearm.
