Born Shaftesbury, Dorset, son of Sarah Brickell, of 86, St. James St., Shaftesbury, Dorset.

23rd April 1916. Lambeth, married Alice Louisa Ball, widow, 35 Pearson Street, Lambeth, Westminster Bridge Road, SE13 /  Ravensdon St., Kennington, London.

Children: Alice Louisa Julia Ball, born 23rd September 1901, Waterloo Road; William Charles Ball, born 25th March 1906, Waterloo Road. William Charles Ball, in Mullers Orphanage, Bristol, returned to mother when married on 23rd April 1916.

Previously served in Militia.

Enlisted  Deptford, SE, age 34, height 5ft 2½ inches, weight 133lbs, elephant & star left forearm. Resided 203 Lynton Road, Bermondsey. Formerly general labourer.

8th November 1915, enlisted & posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 20th December 1916, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 18th January 1917, promoted Corporal; 18th October 1917, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 23rd November 1917 to 21st February 1918, Command Depot Hospital, Tipperary; 23rd February 1918, posted Eastern Command Depot; 21st & 28th March 1918, death assumed between or since.

8th December 1918, date when Separation Allowance of 23/- a week will cease.

Commemorated at  Pozieres Memorial, Panel 58 & 59, Somme, France.
