Corporal Noah GREENFIELD, 200756, (2299), "A" Company, 1st / 4th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died, Quetta, India, 6th March 1919, age 28.

1891, born Lurgashall, Petworth, Sussex, son of William and Rhoda Ellen Greenfield, of Windfall Wood, Lurgashall, Petworth, Sussex. 


1911 Census - Windfall Wood, Lurgashall, Petworth, Sussex - William Greenfield, head, age 53, married, domestic gardener, born Petworth Sussex; Rhoda E Greenfield, wife, age 47, married 20 years, 5 children, all still alive, born Petworth Sussex; Noah Greenfield, son, age 20, single, domestic gardener, born Petworth Sussex; *Harry Greenfield, son, age 18, single, domestic gardener, born Petworth Sussex; Annie Greenfield, daughter, age 14, born Petworth Sussex; Roland Greenfield, son, age 12, school, born Petworth Sussex; George Luff, son, age 25, single, domestic gardener, born Petworth Sussex.


Buried Quetta Government  Cemetery 2543.

Commemorated at  Delhi Memorial (India Gate), Face 23, India.

NOTE: Not included in Regimental History or Soldiers Died in the Great War but shown on the CWGC web site.


*Private Harry Greenfield, died 7th July 1916, age 23, A" Coy. 7th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, Service Number G/600. Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 7C.
