14th April 1915, wounded slight, 2nd Lon Gen Hospital, St Marks College, Chelsea; 16th August 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 17th March 1916, whilst on active service, neglect of duty whilst NCO on trench duty, severely reprimanded; 6th October 1916, appointed Acting Corporal; 2nd December 1916, promoted Corporal; 27th September 1917, bomb wound arm right, chest severe; 5th March to 25th March 1918, furlough from Hospital, admitted 26th October 1917, gsw buttock & chest; 4th November 1918, 2nd Eastern General Hospital, Smith Dorrien Ward, St Marks Hospital, Kemp Town, Brighton, Sussex; 9th March 1919, transferred to Reserve and Demobilized to 6 Station Road, Meopham, Kent; 31st March 1920, discharged.

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to award the Military Medal for bravery in the Field to the under mentioned Non-Commissioned Officers and Men:
