Corporal  Alfred ROGERS, L/7281, "D" Company, 1st  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,  died 23rd / 24th  August 1914, of wounds, received at Mons, Flanders France, age 26.

Born Lewisham, Kent, son of George and Sarah Ann Rogers, of Lewisham, London.

25th April 1903, enlisted Shorncliffe, Kent.

1st Class Educational Certificate.


1911 Census - Royal Military School of Music Certificate, Kneller Hall, Whitton, Middlesex - Alfred Rogers, Lance Corporal, age 23, 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, born Greenwich.


25th November 1912, Holy Trinity, Twickenham, Richmond on Thames, Alfred Rogers, age 24, bachelor, Army Corporal, 120 Colne Road, father, George Rogers, deceased, carman, married *Margaret Dash, age 21, spinster, 120 Colne Road, father, Francis William Dash, deceased, carman. * born 4th April 1891.

Children - Alfred Francis Rogers, born 20th August 1913.

Resided 89, Hazlebury Road, Fulham, London / 9 Jubilee Terrace, Burlington Road, Fulham SW.

23rd August 1914, posted BEF.

Buried at Hautrage Military Cemetery, II. D. 2., Belgium.
