Captain William Ralph COBB,  1st Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds,  5th October 1917.

Commemorated at  Tyne Cot Memorial, Panel 106 to 108., Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

Royal West Kent Regiment - Lieutenant W. R. Cobb. Special Reserve to be temporary Captain 9th April 1916.

London Gazette 24th October 1916.

Royal West Kent Regiment. -  The under-mentioned Lieutenants relinquish the rank of temporary Captain -  22nd July 1916: 

W. R. Cobb, Special Reserve.

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to confer the Military Cross on the under mentioned Officers and Warrant Officers, in recognition of their gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field :

Lieutenant  (acting Captain) William Ralph Cobb, Royal West Kent Regiment, Special Reserve.

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He handled his company in a raid against the enemy's trenches with marked ability, and the success of the raid was largely due to his leadership. He has on many previous occasions done fine work.
