Captain Alexander Kilburn HALL, 6th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, on or since, 7th October 1916.
Born 12th April 1889, son of Joseph Hall, schoolmaster, of Cropwell Butler, Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire.
Educated Nottingham High School, 13th January 1903 to December 1903.

10th March 1916, posted BEF.
19th September 1916, St Stephens Church, Shepherds Bush, Hammersmith & Fulham, Alexander Kilburn Hall, age 27, bachelor, Army Officer, Tylers? House?, 3? Hildas Street, father Joseph Hall, schoolmaster, married Jean Stephanie Pope, age 23, spinster, 10? Futterville? Gardens, father, Stephen Andrew Pope, railway officer.
Enlisted as a Private in 18th Royal Fusiliers, he then joined 8th Royal West Kent Regiment as a private before being commissioned and becoming a Captain in 6th Battalion. The 6th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment took part in a major action on 7th October 1916 near Gueudecourt, in the Battle of the Somme. Also commemorated on a grave in Bridlington Cemetery.
