23rd October 1915, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 21st December 1915, wounded gas; 8th July 1916, appointed paid Lance Sergeant; 13th July 1916, promoted Sergeant; 19th January 1917, appointed C2MS; 1st May 1917, appointed Acting Company Serjeant Major ; 25th May 1917, confirmed in rank of Company Serjeant Major ; 1st January 1918, awarded DCM; 1st February 1918, appointed Acting Regimental Sergeant Major; 21st March 1918, posted missing at Moy; 3rd January 1919, Prisoner of War, repatriated at Hull; 3rd January 1919, reverts to CSM; 12th February 1919, Transferred to Reserve and Demobilized to 65 High Street, North Woolwich, E16. ; 31st March 1920, discharged.
