Born Ightham Kent, son of Friend William & Ann Palmer of The Willows, Ightham, Sevenoaks, Kent.

9th August 1915, posted Balkans Theatre of War.

21st June 1917, Probate - Askew William Palmer, of 9 Denmark Road, Kilburn, Middlesex, Company Serjeant Major His Majestys Army died 22nd April 1917, in Egypt. Administration (with Will), London 21st June to Alice Mabel Palmer, spinster. Effects £471.

Buried in the Deir El Belah War Cemetery, Gaza Strip, Israel, grave A 132. Commemorated on  the Ightham War Memorial, brass plaque inside St Peters Church, Fen Pond Road, Ightham, Kent. / Sevenoaks War Memorial.
