Previously served as Private, 19th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, Service No.796.

14th November 1915, posted BEF.

Reported he was shot in the neck but carried on fighting, was later shot in the head and killed.

15th July 1918, Probate - William Harold Proctor, of 17 High Street, Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Second Lieutenant 6th Battalion, The Royal West Kent Regiment, of H.M. Army died 9th April 1917, in France, killed in Action, Administration (with will), Llandaff 15th July to William Perkins Proctor, ironmonger. Effects £198 8s 8d.

Buried at Feuchy Chapel British Cemetery, II. I. 16., Wancourt, France. Commemorated in London & Provincial Bank - Memorials & Book of Remembrance.
