Second Lieutenant Sydney Richard HICKMOTT, 4th Battalion, attached 10th Battalion,   Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,  died of wounds, Flanders, France, 1st October 1918,  age 33.

Born 1885, son of Edward Richard and Fanny Flora Hickmott, of 41, Victoria Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

20th May 1908, initiated Holmesdale Lodge, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Freemasons.

1910 January, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, married Ellen Margaret Oaten, of 55, Forest Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.


1911 Census - 18 Aston Villa, Hopwood Gardens, Tunbridge Wells, Kent - Sydney Richard Hickmott, head, age 25, married, undertaker, worker, born Holy Trinity, Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Ellen Margaret Hickmott, wife, age 24, married under 1 year, no children, born St Peters, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.


Children - Richard Samuel Keith Hickmott, born 23rd November 1911, Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Margaret Irene Hickmott, born 12th October 1913, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Private 5th London Regiment, Service No.305523.

4th November 1919, Probate - Hickmott Sydney Richard, Sunnyside, Forest Road, Tunbridge Wells, died 1st October 1918, in France. Probate London 4th November to Daniel Reid Chalmers, * surgeon. Effects £493 12s.

*Royal Army Veterinary Corps.
