Second Lieutenant Roderick Kyrle MATHESON, 3rd Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, attached 20th Manchester Regiment, died of wounds received at Guinchy, whilst a Prisoner of War, 8th September 1916, age 18.
14th November 1897, born, Hastings Registration District, son of Sir Alexander Percival Matheson and Lady Eleanor Matheson, of Ardarun, Littlehampton, Sussex.
Enlisted September 1914, in 20th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, Private, Service No.6384.
Buried at Lebucquiere Communal Cemetery Extension, II. F. 24., France.
London Gazette 1st September 1916.

The under mentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) are confirmed in their rank: Royal West Kent Regiment. - R. K. Matheson.
His two brothers also fell.

Alexander Perceval Matheson, middle son, born 21st January 1895, died 13th July
1917. Lieutenant Royal Flying Corps 55th Squadron, age 22. Buried Oudenaarde
Communal Cemetery, Grave Reference: In the middle of the East part.
