His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the following awards to the under mentioned Officers and Warrant Officers in recognition of their gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field:
AWARDED THE MILITARY CROSS.
2nd Lieutenant Philip Lancelot Levelis-Marke, Royal West Kent Regiment.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while Intelligence Officer. When all the officers of a company had become casualties he took command and reorganised the company, and refused to be relieved until operations were concluded. He displayed the greatest zeal and energy.
