His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased of the following awards to the under mentioned officers and Warrant Officers in recognition of their gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field:
AWARDED THE MILITARY CROSS
Temporary 2nd Lieutenant Gerald Broadbent Baker, 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, attached Bucks. Battalion., Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry, Territorial Force. (ITALY)
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during a raid. He set a very fine example to all ranks in his platoon, which he led with skill and success, clearing the whole of the area allotted to him and killing and capturing a considerable number of the enemy.
