Royal West Kent Regiment. - Temporary 2nd Lieutenant F Carville, to be acting captain while commanding a Company. 16 December 1917.
London Gazette 18th July 1918.
Royal West Kent Regiment. - The under mentioned temporary 2nd Lieutenants from a Service Battalion to be temporary 2nd Lieutenants, with seniority specified against their names: F Carville, MC. 27 June 1917.

With reference to the awards conferred as announced in the London Gazette dated 26th March 1918, the following are the statements of service for which the decorations were conferred.
AWARDED THE MILITARY CROSS
Temporary 2nd Lieutenant Frank Carville, Royal West Kent Regiment.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during a raid on the enemy's trenches. He led his men with great courage and determination into the enemy's lines, and personally accounted for two of the enemy. Though he was twice wounded, he succeeded in withdrawing all his party safely, after being out for more than two hours.

London Gazette 4th May 1920.
Royal West Kent Regiment. - Temporary 2nd Lieutenant F Carville, M.C., relinquishes his commission on account of ill health caused by wounds, 5 May 1920 and is granted the rank of Captain.
