17th August 1914, posted BEF; 1st December 1915, Commissioned.

13th July 1917, Probate - Cathcart Emma Mahala,  of The White Lodge, Bearsted, Kent, widow died 19th March 1917. Administration (limited) London 13th July to Emma Weeks, widow, Effects £158 1s 1d.

21st August 1917, Probate - Cathcart David, of The White Lodge, Bearsted, Kent, Second Lieutenant,  Royal West Kent Regiment,  died 14th July 1916 in FRance on Active Service. Administration (with Will limited) London 21st August, to Emma Weeks, widow, Effects £131 7s 9d.

12th December 1917, Miss Bertha Weeks applies for the 1914 Star in respect of the Services of the late 2/Lt D A Cathcart, 2nd Dragoons. 4th November 1918, further letter from Miss B Weeks,

Buried at  Peronne Road Cemetery, I. D. 17, Maricourt, Somme, France & commemorated at 1st Ballymena Presbyterian Church & Bearsted Church War Memorial
