Born Canning Town, Essex, son of John P. Buttwell, of 10, Cooper St., Canning Town, London.

Enlisted Canning Town, Essex.

11th August 1915, posted BEF.

Buried at  Crucifix Corner Cemetery, X.E.14., Villers-Bretonneux, Somme, France.

AWARDS: MM

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Military Medal to the under mentioned Non-commissioned Officers and Men:
