Born 3rd January 1896, Great Chesterford, Essex, enlisted 9th September 1914, Bromley, Kent, age 19, height 5ft 11 inches, weight 154lbs, resided 43 Fairwig Lane, Bromley, Kent / 36 Crescent Road, Bromley, Kent / 17 Station Road, Claygate, Surrey. Formerly postman.

Son of William Clarence Pink, Staplefield Court, Staplefield, nr Haywards Heath, Sussex.

Home, 9th September 1914 to 25th July 1915; BEF, 26th July 1915 to 12th December 1916; Home, 13th December 1916 to 20th May 1917; Army Reserve Class "P" (Home), 21st May 1917 to 6th November 1917

9th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th January 1915, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 3rd March 1915, appointed paid Lance Corporal; 25th May 1916, promoted Corporal; 2nd October 1916, promoted Sergeant; 18th November 1916, wounded shell wound, left thigh; 13th December 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th April 1917, Medical Board, wounded in action 18th November 1916, not permanent, probable duration 6 months, prevents 4/10 for 3 months, 2/10 for 3 months. Is fit for discharge, does not require outpatient treatment; 11th April to 20th April 1917, 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham, furlough; 20th May 1917, transferred to Army Reserve Section "P".

20th May 1917 discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 13/- for 13 weeks then 6/6 a week for 13 weeks, conditional.

6th November 1917, discharged.

28th November 1917, pension 6/6 a week for 9 weeks pending medical report, expires 22nd January 1918; January 1918, 6/6 a week for 16 weeks; 1st May 1918, prevents less than 20%, gratuity £52.10.
