Serjeant Abram / Abraham HOPER, S/317, 6th Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders France, 2nd July 1918, age 43.  

1877, born New Romney, Ashford, Kent, son of Stephen & Eliza Hoper.

Enlisted Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Served in the South African Campaign.

1902, October, Tonbridge Registration District, married Harriet Kate Norman, of 40, Sidney Street, Folkestone, Kent. 


1911 Census - 2 Murray Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent - Abram Hoper, head, age 34, married, gardener, born Parish of St Mary, Kent; Harriet Kate Hoper, wife, age 38, married 8 years, 1 child, born Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Jack Roland Hoper, son, age 5, born Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Edward Richard Norman, wife's son, previous marriage, age 10, born Rochester, Kent.


1st June 1915, posted BEF.

Buried at Harponville Communal Cemetery Extension, F. 8., France.
