Private William WALTON, 3642, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

Born St Luke's, Brighton, Sussex, enlisted 15th September 1914, Brighton, Sussex, age 25, height 5ft 6¾, weight 124½lbs, resided 11 Upper Bedford Street, Brighton, Sussex. Formerly music hall artiste.

Husband of Ivy May Walton, (nee Percy), 11 Upper Bedford Street, Brighton, Sussex, married 28th January 1914, Register Office, Lambeth.

Home, 15th September 1914 to 10th April 1916.

15th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th January 1915, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment;

1st July 1915, Brighton, Medical Report on an Invalid - disability, ventral hernia following operation for appendicitis. Patient had attack of acute appendicitis followed by suppurative peritonion & drainage on 9th / 10th February 1915. The necessity for continued drainage has left a weak scar. Numerous old tubercular glands & adhesions were present at the time of the operations, he is unable to eat ordinary food. Permanently unfit;

29th July 1915, posted 9th Battalion, (2nd Reserve), Royal West Kent Regiment.

24th March 1916, Medical Board -  Old peritonitis & adhesions, originated at Brighton 1911, not result of Military Service, permanent, prevents ½.

10th April 1916, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued.

24th August 1916, Rejected for Pension.
