13th May 1916 called up for Service; 14th May 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment; 27th August 1916, embarked; 28th August 1916, arrived 40 Infantry Base Depot, Etaples, posted 12th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, 11966; 5th September 1916 to 11th September 1916, Etaples, granted leave, fathers death; 8th October 1916, transferred to7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th May 1917, 56 Field Ambulance, N.Y.D.; 22nd May 1917, joined 40 Infantry Base Depot; 11th June 1917, proceeded to join Battalion.
