Private Walter Stanley VENTERS, L/11181, 7th Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,  killed in action,  Flanders France, death presumed on or after, 13th July 1916, age 19.

Born 14th March 1897, Bromley, Kent, enlisted 2nd February 1916, Bromley, Kent, age 18, height 5ft 3 inches, weight 105lbs. Formerly milkman.

Served in Army Reserve "B".

Son of William George Thomas and Rose Venters, of 7, Wharton Road, Bromley, Kent.

Home, 2nd February 1916 to 15th June 1916; BEF, 16th June 1916 to 13th July 1916.

27th February 1916 to 13th March 1916, Drill Hall Hospital, Chatham, influenza; 13th March 1916 to 31st March 1916, Great Armitage Hospital, Rochester, discharge from ears; 4th May 1916, Chatham, improper conduct in the ranks, 10 days confined to Barracks; 16th June 1916, embarked; 6th July 1916, joined Battalion; 13th July 1916, wounded and missing.

Buried at Peronne Road Cemetery, I. C. 9., Maricourt, Somme, France.

NOTE: Soldiers Died in the Great War gives date of death as 13th July 1916; CWGC web site shows 14th July 1916; Service Records show 19th July 1916 amended to 13th July 1916.
