His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to award the Military Medal for bravery in the field to the under mentioned Non-Commissioned Officers and Men:-
9270 Pte R HESTER, 4547 Pte George WELLS, 218 Pte William REILLY.

37th Brigade 12th Division 11th July 1916 recommendation - for bravery and devotion to duty during the attack on Ovillers on July 3rd 1916 in tending the wounded in the open under fire and removing them to a place of safety. Private, A/Corporal HESTER was himself wounded .
