Private William Oliver LAKE, L/9016,  2nd  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died, Prisoner of War, Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force, 29th June 1916. 

Born Stratford, Essex, enlisted  21st July 1908, Woolwich, Kent, age 18, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 119lbs, resided Bexley Heath, Kent. Formerly shop porter.

Previously served in Royal West Kent Regiment, Special Reserve, 7433, 29th January 1908 to 21st July 1908.

Son of George Lake, 50 The Broadway, Bexley Heath, Kent. Deceased June 1919.

Sisters, Elizabeth R Jenner, 25 Pelmania Road, Crooklog, Bexley Heath, Kent & Mrs Susan Ann Hatley, 42, The Broadway, Bexley Heath, Kent.

 Captured at Kut-al- Amara, 29th April 1916, died 29th June 1916 at E'Cole des Souex Hospital, of disease, whilst a Prisoner of War.

Buried at Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery, XIV. K. 10., Iraq.
